Failure to notice the unexpected in our surroundings. Think of that video we watched in class, about the card trick. Hallucinations during sleep paralysis and stage 1 sleep. Body is unable to function normally without drug. Fatigue resulting from difficulty sleeping or falling asleep. Continuing to use in spite of knowing it"s harms. Body doesn"t need the drug, but you think you need it. Below consciousness, but may become conscious or affect consciousness. Altered state of consciousness in which the person is especially susceptible to suggestion. Sleeping infants stop breathing and die usually 2-4 month olds. Ability to maintain focused awareness on a target or idea. Reduce anxiety and pain, nausea and vomiting from chemo. Normal rem paralysis is present even though person is awake. Awaken just long enough to resume breathing don"t feel rested. Awareness of what"s going on around you and inside your head at a given moment.
