Primary vector of dengue fever is the mosquito aedes aegypti which is commonly found in sitting pools of water. It was easily transported to areas around the tropics due to the ships that sailed carrying the mosquitos. During the course of wwii the spread of the fever was accelerated due to soldier movement. The movement allowed for dhf to spread throughout the region - mainly southeast asia. The incidents of the fever began to dwindle closer to the end of the 20th century, but as human population began to in ate the amount of cases increased. Also, the lack of resources allowed for the virus to multiply and create for serotypes, making it more formidable and harder to deal with. There were also new areas that began contracting the disease causing silent transmission, causing a higher probability of secondary dengue infections.
