Attentive to unfavorable responses on their own posts. Young ppl w/low self esteem complain about their lives on fb provoke negative responses contribute to downward emotional spiral. Effects of social media is more negative than positive. China"s social media websites described as place of escape from school pressure, parental expectations & gov"t censorship. Use of social media encourages self expression. Young ppl in china rely on social media to form relationships, advertise accomplishments & flaunt sense of worth.
