Perception is how we build meaningful patterns. Perception is the process of selecting, organizing, and interpreting sensory data. Sensory acuity- the level of sensitivity of our senses. We don"t process what we don"t see, hear, taste, touch, or smell. Selectively attending to stimuli two processes: 1) focusing on specific stimuli and 2) screening out other data. Inattentional blindness- lack of attention to an unexpected object. Inattentional blindness is a daily communication occurrence. What we attend to at any given moment is influenced by the nature of stimulus".
