Prejudice: a pre-formed opinion that is not based on fact; unfavorable bias toward something or someone. Discrimination: actions taken as a result of prejudice; negative treatment of someone based on a social classification, such as race or religion, not based on the qualities of an individual. Systematic racism: widespread and deeply rooted discrimination that exists on all levels of society to oppress ceratin people and give privilege to others. Discrimination is woven into the web of social, political, and economic life. Most of the human variation that we can see in a person"s physical characteristics (i. e. phenotype) comes from their deep ancestry. A result of migration patterns that led our ancestors to different locations all over the world. This led to natural variations in traits, such as skin pigment. Skin color is an environmental response to ancient long-term geographic settlements. Three reasons biological race doesn"t exist in the human species (1) humans around the world share 99. 9% of their dna.
