Traditional approach - companies divide work into separate jobs and tasks. Managers then group jobs and tasks together into depts. A: more flexible cause employees can report to supervisors, Committee structures give authority and responsibility to a group rather than to an individual. Four types of work teams are used: problem solving, self-managed, cross-functional, and virtual teams: use teams to improve individual and group motivation and performance.
