If you make money you aren"t considered a tourist. Inbound tourism: visits made to a country by nonresidents. Outbound tourism: visits made by residents of a country to another country. Practice: a chinese traveler going to usa for a 2 week vacation is an inbound tourist for usa. Only 10% of the population half a passport. Same day visitors: person who does not spend the night in a collective or private accommodation in the country visited. Tourist: person who stays in a country visited for at least 1 night but less than a year. Usa - requires travel of at least 50 miles each way from home or an overnight stay (regardless of distance)
