A confucian view of the global economy : 2 aspects of confucian thought, the modern western thought of equality for the pursuit of self-interest through competition leads to a tension-oriented society. Western belief of equality is flawed in the real world. Confucianism, however, brings a different perspective of the individual. It supports a compassionate point of view by seeing each human being as a unique person. this means that physical conditions, family, race, gender, nationality, and other things impact who you are. An analogy would be different tones to make harmonious music. Also, the thought of self is a center of all interactive relations as well as a measure of all things coexisting. essentially, it could be understood has a complex moral-consciousness. If i respect members of my own family, i can also respect members of other families. This will make you more ethical as you become more concerned about the need of others in your community.
