Organizations with inclusive lgpt policies financially outperform competitors with less inclusive policies. Sexual orientation - component of sexuality characterized by enduring emotional, romantic, sexual, and/or affectional attractions to individuals of a particular gender. Sexual minorities - non-heterosexuals including gay males, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgender people. Gender identity or expression - person"s internal sense of their gender, as well as how a person behaves, appears, or presents with regard to societal expectations of that person. Transgender - individuals whose gender identity or expression differs from their biological sex or the social expectations for people of their sex, regardless of whether they have changed their bodies through surgery or hormones. Heterosexism - attitudes and behaves denigrating and stigmatizing to non-heterosexuals. Heteronormativity - culturally ascribed ideologies and practices that normalize and support heterosexuality and the binary gender system.
