A tendency to view one"s own culture as superior and to apply one"s own cultural values in judging the behavior and beliefs of other cultures and societies. Most people view their own opinions and customs as proper and moral. Anthropologists must learn to put their own thoughts and upbringing to better understand a culture. Examples: homosexual acts in native tribes of new guinea, politics. Viewpoint that the behavior of one culture should not be judged by the standards of another culture. It"s all well and good to say all cultures have a right to follow their own beliefs .
