Transamination transfer of an amino group from 1 amino acid to carbon skeleton to form a new amino acid. Deamination lose an amino group without transferring it to another carbon skeleton. Limiting amino acid essential amino acid in lowest concentration in a food or diet relative to body needs and limits the amount of protein a body can synthesize. Two sources of protein combine to form a complete protein. Treatment: large amounts of calories and protein. Can lead to cardiovascular disease b/c high in saturated fat and cholesterol. To help prevent food allergies, infants should be fed only breast milk or infant formula until they are 4-6 months old. Stimulated the production of acid in stomach.
