Of the four schools of legal thought, legal realism is considered the most synonymous to my personal philosophy for several distinct reasons. First, this school holds the law as only one factor to be considered when deciding cases. Legal realists believe that social and economic circumstances should be taken into account as well. This belief is similar to my own philosophy in the regard that the law is here to enforce rules, but it can always be changed due to other circumstantial variables, such as societal and economical influences. Additionally, racism is a major global issue that still hasn"t been solved. Despite the law and many protests, racism still exists and impacts global community"s every-day. Legal realists notice this issue and protest against the government as well as other schools of law"s beliefs. The protests are created because of the conflicting beliefs that the law or past principles are the only factor in determining a resolution.
