Chromosomes: large molecules in the cellular nucleus that include the structures shaped like a double helix that are lined with all of the genes an individual inherits. Dna (deoxyribonucleic acid): the physical and functional units of heredity. Phenotype: consists of observable characteristics, including physical structures and behaviors. Alleles: genes at a given location on a pair of chromosomes can have different variations. If both alleles at a given location of the chromosome are the same. Behavioral genomics: the study of how genes and environment influence behavior. Monozygotic twins: come from a single ovum (egg), which makes them genetically identical. Dizygotic twins (fraternal twins): which come from two separate eggs fertilized by two different sperm cells, share the same womb.
