Navigating racially and ethnically focus student services and organizations: negotiating participation and belonging among race based orgs can be challenging and confusing. May be exclusionary to multiracial students due to actions or perceptions. They seemingly inhibit students ability to develop true self-consciousnesses. Campus ecology: theory that individuals exist in dynamic contexts of mutual influence. A person interacts with their environment and those interactions impact the person and environment. Monoracial identity- students claim a single identity from their heritage groups. Multiple monoracial identities- students alternate between group identities.
