Localization: the creation and assertion of highly particular, place-based identities and communities. Patterns of consumption - a common way people express their local identities and ways of being. Choose your clothes based on social status, lifestyle and people in other countries do this, too, but because of local culture and history. Cultural differences can exist not in spite of, but because of interconnection.
