Southern asia is linked to the west in many ways. +historically linked to the west through trade routes and the silk road. Southern asia has some of world"s largest mountains with the himalayan mountain chain. The monsoon season dominates the climate patterns of southern asia. Before western colonialism asia was in many ways the master of its own destiny. During its golden age china was one of the most advanced nations in the world. Asia is a very diverse part of the world. There is some christianity in southwestern india and it was brought over by europe and became established due to european and middle eastern diasporas. Indian culture has appropriated much of western culture on its own terms.
