Document Summary

Sociology= systematic study of social interaction at a variety of levels. Social interaction is the process by which we act toward and react to people around us. Systematic study of social interaction means that social behavior is regular and patterned, takes place between individuals, small groups, large organizations, entire societies. Eye opening experience : people in the south get married younger, america has one of the lowest voting rates in the world. We can suggest that it is because americans are happy with the way that the government is working. However, it is really because the government discourages voting- during the time people work, transportation, registering to vote. Microsociology=study of human behavior in contexts of face-to-face interaction. Macrosociology=study of large scale groups, organizations, or social systems: divorce rates, views on religion based on where you live. Conflict between these was commonplace, kept society running.
