Study types: basic research- conducted to answer questing about the nature of behavior and cognition, developed/build theories, applied research: conducted to resolve practical problems develops new innovations/technologies. Introduction of scientific method: perceiving the question, forming a hypothesis, testing the hypothesis, drawing conclusions, recording results.
