Associated with right frontal cortical activation: fleeing avoiding, approach behaviors: moving towards a stimulus. Associated with left frontal cortical activation: fighting, state activation: when one is engaged in social activity, their left frontal system engages. When one is engaged in avoiding activity, the frontal system engages: in the moment, trait activation: someone who avoids social interaction tends to have stronger right frontal activity. Someone who engages others tends to have stronger left frontal activity: frontal asymmetry: differential activation of right v left cortical regions.
