General education statement: this course is a general education course in the natural. Class overview: this is the introductory course primarily for physical scientists and engineers. It will introduce the concepts and methods of mechanics, particularly the motion of particles and rigid bodies. The concepts and approaches to problem solving will be developed through the readings, lectures, demonstrations and class discussion. There will be frequent in- class quizzes to test your knowledge and encourage participation. Section 8 outlines 15 types of academic misconduct. Lectures: please try to be on time.
