The early history of oceanography/marine science is closely related to the history of ocean exploration and voyaging. Ploynesians are the first people that experienced the ocean. Submarine to explore oceans- replacing the alvin- the most successful but now it hard to maintain. Alvin dived in the shallow waters- massive pressure hole that protects the crew.
