Planning is the best way to achieve this, it can be used in everyday life at home or at the office. Planning allows for a smooth and efficient design process when a new product approaches, prototypes or models can help in this. Developing of a product can be broken down into five phases: discovery, specification, development, conceptual design, product development, and product support. Planning is vital to each and every one of these phases and to each product that comes from these phases. Planning can also be broken down into five steps to help better understand its importance: identify the tasks, state their objective, estimate the resources needed, develop a sequence, and estimate the cost. An ideal plan must fit the project it defines, this is also known as a goal and is used often in the engineering world.
