International relations (ir)- concerns the relationships among the world"s governments. Cannont be understood in isolation ; has many actors (international organizations, multinational corporations, and individuals) that play a part. Anarchy- absence of government: no other country can demand another country to do something, no global government. The un is not a global government; they can only give suggestions. Sovereignty- to have authority with no one above them. Intergovernmental organizations (igo) organizations whose members are national governments. States have power and authority within their territory sovereinty. Us has power and authority over states sovereinty. No one has authority over us anarchy. Nonstate actors (transnational actors): groups that influence international relations. Individuals: everything in politics is actually made up of people and how it effects them. Examples: voters, world leaders, soldiers, individual citizens, ect. Global: involves entire world and effects every country.
