Interior design: deals with the personal environment within architecture, forms a link between architecture and man, particularly but not limited to furniture. the formal study of man"s interaction with the immediate environment. There is more energy used to build a new building than it will ever be used in the building after it is built. Size: is simply the relationship of the area occupied by one shape to that of another. Texture: the surface quality of a shape rough, smooth, soft, hard glossy, etc. Texture can be physical (tactile) or visual. contrast texture helps define and differentiate. Color: also called hue primary, secondary, trecherary (look up the actual colors) (color wheel) (color scheme) Value: the lightness or darkness of a color. Also called tone. shade and tint: shade darkness. tint lightness. Balance: a large shape close to the center can be balanced by a small shape close to the edge. Gradation can add interest and movement to a shape.
