History gives us insight and a better vantage point to judge our own present. Those in power try to tell their version of the story. The creative imagination and interpretation of past events. Most people in fact will not take the trouble in finding out the truth, but are much more inclined to accept the first story they hear . Greek historian societies that separate the fighting man and the thinking man are doomed to fail. Its about finding the truth, but its always plural. History is part of humanities: art, literature, poetry. Humanities helps remind us why we want to live in the first place. Enables us to test evidence and question assumptions.
