Trade greatly increased between the fifteenth and nineteenth centuries, and civilizations were interspersed. In this era, from 1300-1900, the process of globalization increased through the columbian exchange and the atlantic. Slave trade, between the americas, asia, africa, and europe. The columbian exchange, taking place in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, began when christopher columbus discovered the americas in 1492. Columbus was a famous explorer and set out to find a quicker route to india, but ended up discovering what is now north and south america. Through this discovery, the afro-eurasian hemisphere began its relationship with the american hemisphere.
