Course description: finance function within the business enterprise; techniques of financial management, concepts of capital structure and dividend policy, working capital management, capital budgeting, institutional and international environment of the firm. Prerequisites: (econ 2000 & econ 2010) or (econ 2030 & acct 2000 or acct 2001). In addition, students should be proficient in high school level algebra. Required text: berk, demarzo and harford, fundamentals of corporate finance, 3rd edition, Note: students can use an earlier edition; however, it is the student"s responsibility to follow the corresponding chapters listed below. Powerpoints and solutions to end-of-chapter questions will be from the 3rd edition! Financial calculator: students are required to use a financial calculator capable of solving discounted cash flow problems including npv and irr. You are expected to have read the owner"s. There are youtube videos explaining the specs of financial calculators as well.
