Document Summary

At this point in the novel, robinson crusoe is on board a ship in the middle of a terrible storm. He is very scared and praying to god to keep him alive. The conversation he had with his father warning him to stay at home is fresh in his mind. All crusoe wants to do is make it to shore and apologize to his father. This voyage is robinson"s first trip to sea and it is going horribly for him, so he was beginning to realize that maybe he was not meant to be out at sea. He was beginning to regret some of the decisions he made and was also realizing that maybe his father was right. This quote shows robinson crusoe"s religious beliefs and that when he is any tight situation, he feels safer when he prays to god.
