Homework exercise 5: historical context: earliest memories: my earliest memory of the news was 9/11. I had no clue what the twin towers were, but i knew our country would be changing. I knew nothing about the gulf war or gay rights. I remember some school shootings on tv, but i always knew about new technology: perspective: looking back now, i remember several major historical events. I never understood why someone would shoot people at school. I also remember the oj simpson trial and how everyone reacted when he was proven innocent: analysis: looking back now, several historical and social events affected me and others around me greatly. It made me more aware of the things going on in the world. With my family, big events made us grow closer as a family. With my friends, it gave us new topics to talk about: your adolescence, microhistory: in my small group, we had several goals.
