The objective of this lab was to gain familiarity with using an oscilloscope as a measuring device. In this lab we study the correlation between time constants and frequency response. Vb - va = (constant)e^(-t/rc) f = 1/(2pirc) Experiment: the picture to the right shows a 0-3v square ware from the function generator at a frequency of 500 hz connected to the circuit in fig. The picture at the top right of page. 2 shows when both scope probes are placed on the output of the circuit in fig. 2 channel 2 takes time to rise to the input voltage. The picture below it shows the results when the sweep time is smaller. Notice that the smaller the sweep time is the more the capacitor in the circuit acts as a short: now we attach the circuit in fig. 2 again but replace the square wave input with a 3-v p-p sine- wave.
