CMST 2064 Chapter : CMST 2064 GROUP ANALYSIS PAPER
Document Summary
Originally tuckman"s group development process had four stages, but after he and mary ann. Jensen improved the model, a fifth stage was added. Forming, storming, norming, performing, and adjourning are the five stages of tuckman"s group development process. In the forming stage, the members of the group explore each other"s goals and the goals of the group. The dialects of leadership/ followership and conflict/ cohesion are addressed in the storming stage. Members settle tensions in the earlier stages and learn how to work as a united and dedicated team during the norming stage. In the performing stage, the members are completely involved and enthusiastic to work. The group has completed the common goal and might start to separate in the adjourning stage. Applying these stages to my group is rather simple because i feel like we have gone through the first four of these stages when we have group projects in class.
