Those stories they told in an effort to make sense of those experiences are myths: apparently, around the year 1200 b. c. people in the ancient. The collective unconscious- a group of ideas that all human beings are born with these ideas in their brains. Unconscious because we are unaware of it: levi-strauss- has done a lot of work on the human brain. Research indicates there are two sides of the brain both responsible for different functions. Levi noticed that often these pairs of thoughts represent two ideas that are in opposition to each other. Concluded that we think in terms of conflict. The myths present conflict to help people find a way to resolution: sigmund freud- sex- there was no psychiatrist treatment, counseling or therapy before him. Found in the all myths are what his patients would talk to him about. Freud concluded that all myths are really about sex since everything else is about sex.
