CE 3700 Chapter : Lab 2
Document Summary
Standard test method for compressive strength of hydraulic cement . The purpose of the previous three labs was to get a better understanding of what portland. Cement concrete (pcc) is and how it is constructed. Pcc is a material that is created from water, air, fine and course aggregates, and cement. These admixtures can be added or reduced within the structure to ether weaken or strengthen the concrete design. In the past three experiments test 1: making and curing concrete test specimens in the laboratory, test 2: Standard test method for slump of hydraulic-cement concrete, and test 3: standard test. The american society of testing materials (astm), american concrete institutes (aci) and the portland cement association (pca) have developed the specifications for doing these experiments. The three standards that were used for this procedure were astm c192, astm c143, and astm c39. Astm c192 was used for making and curing concrete test specimen in the laboratory.
