BE 1252 Chapter : BE Career Assignment Part 1 1 And 2
Document Summary
The main areas of work for biomedical engineering include the following: designing medical equipment such as artificial organs, prosthetics, and medical diagnostic machines, repairing biomedical equipment, evaluating safety and effectiveness of biomedical equipment, and exhibiting scientific research. The work setting for a biomedical engineer varies. Some work in hospitals where therapy occurs, some work in laboratories doing research, some work in manufacturing settings designing biomedical equipment, and some work in commercial offices making business decisions. However, the main place of work is a manufacturing setting designing biomedical equipment (which is what i want to do). The education for biomedical begins in high school. Students are expected to be proficient in sciences such as biology, chemistry, and physics. They should also study mathematics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus. To further education to obtain a career in biomedical engineering, students are also expected to achieve at least a bachelor"s degree in bioengineering or biomedical engineering.
