For about 150 years the police force has been america"s most visible unit of governance. There has been plenty of research done to prove that police brutality is a definite racial issue. Despite being an organization trusted with the enforcement of laws present by our government, there have been numerous cases that have received plenty of attention within the passed decade that include police brutality, especially against african americans. Some people would argue that there is no racial bias when it comes to police brutality. However it is obvious that racial bias against black americans is an increasing issue within law enforcement. When looking at a case such as this it is important to know the event that somewhat started it all. On march 3 of 1991 rodney glen king was involved in a high speed chase with police officers. When the police finally caught up to him he was pulled out of his vehicle.
