ANTH 1001 Chapter : General Geography
Document Summary
Mostly studying regions outside of the us, and practices outside of the us. Geography-the study of spatial variation of how and why things differ, from place to place, on the surface of the earth. Geographers study natural phenomena (earthquakes, etc. ) as well as human creations like cities, and we are guided in that study, by our spatial perspective (by looking at where things happen, and that it matters where things happen) Another geography description- the study of how people make the world into their home. These cultural landscapes are unique everywhere in the world, but have many similarities throughout the world. Even things that are broadly the same can very a little (cultural changes within the us) These landscapes unify us and bring us together. Homogenous-consistent throughout, all similar (homogenized milk has the cream all mixed completely throughout, and is all the same)
