Repeated episodes of cystic duct obstruction result in chronic inflammation. Use standard pre op care for all surgical procedures. Caused by carbon dioxide retention in the abdomen. Pt should be able to return to activity in 1-3 weeks. Opiod via pcs pump t-tube to remove excess fluid. Serious and [possibly life threatening inflammatory process of the pancreases. Pancreatic duct becomes obstructed and enzymes back up causing autodigestion and inflammation of the pancreas.
