Functional finish- not for cosmetic appearances or corrosion resistance: critical for certain application. Surface finishing- removes scratches, burrs, tool marks, surface imperfections, and defects: cleans parts so finishing materials can adhere to material. Detergent cleaning- uses mild chemicals that rely on a washing system for agitation and detergent supplementation. Platform oscillation- immerse parts in solution while oscillating up and down: good for cleaning interiors and irregularly shaped parts, batch parts washing system. Solution turbulation- sprays solution over parts with jets or eductors: high solution impingement, good for hard to clean areas. Cavitation (ultrasonic) cleaning- parts are immersed in solution ans scrubbed with sound waves from an ultrasonic transducer: good for precision cleaning, more effective when combined with part oscillation and solution turbulence, heightened chemical activity. Ferrous parts need a rust inhibitor after cleaning to prevent tarnishing. Cleaning at high temperatures speeds up drying time. Filter and recirculate cleaning and rinsing solutions.
