Environment- the sum total of our surroundings including all living things & nonliving with which we interact includes complex webs of relationships & institutions that shape our daily lives. Humans are still part of the natural world & our interactions with it matter a great deal. Environmental science- the study of how the natural world works, how our environment affects us, and how we affect it. We need to understand our interactions with the environment to devise solutions to pressing challenges. Environmental scientists study issues most centrally important to the world and its future. Currently, global conditions are changing faster than ever. Natural resources- any of the various substances and energy sources that we take from our environment and need to survive.
