Roles are either oriented to 1. getting the job done; or 2. keeping group members happy. Getting the job done = task related role, whereas keeping members happy = If the group does not have a leader, individual who perform numerous tasks and relationship roles will likely assume this position. Blockers, dominators, withdrawers and recognition seekers are self oriented roles that are detrimental to a group"s performance and progress.
