Intervening variables: between independent and dependent variables. It typically starts as the dependent variable and then ends as the independent variable. Control: to hold a certain variable steady while research happen on another variable. Hypothesis: explanation or expectation of an event. In research it is a prediction of the outcome of the research. Null hypotheses: an outcome different than what you expected.
