Globalization has transformed much of north america which includes the united states and canada. There is tremendous culture and physical diversity in north america. Benefited from economic growth though there is continuing differences in income and quality of life. North america landscape is dominated by the large interior lowlands bordered by mountainous topography to the west and coastal plains to the east. Mountain ranges influence the precipitation patterns throughout the continent. Boreal forest or coniferous evergreen forest in the continental interior. Urban heat island effect where development associated with cities often produces nighttime temps 9- Acid rain- industrially produced sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide in the atmosphere that combine with precipitation to damage forest, poison lakes, and kill fish. Managing water is difficult because of water pollution caused by acid rain and fracking. Air pollution from the industrial areas that is carried by winds to the mountains where is sits.
