Comorbidity of personality disorders: those with personality disorders often also meet criteria for other disorders especially anxiety, mood, and substance use disorders. In clusters, person is more likely to have another personality disorder in same cluster they are currently in rather than different cluster. Personality disorders and typical personality traits: factors that emphasize opposite poles of typical personality dimensions, detachment, negative affectivity, antagonism, disinhibition, and psychoticism. Characteristics of healthy self: healthy self ~ in dsm 5, healthy self is described in terms of self and interpersonal. Functioning continuum, which includes aspects of identity, self direction, empathy, and intimacy. Intimacy ~ ability to have relationship with another person that includes mutual connectedness and valuing of other person; individual values closeness and seeks it when appropriate: evolutionary task of human to perform on three levels. Interpersonal level which reflects attachment processes: group level and involves prosocial behavior, altruism, and cooperation needed.
