Unicameral legislature- legislature with one chamber; helps to encourage citizens to feel sense of identity: disadvantages: systems make it difficult for legislature tp represent more than one set of interests. Executive- branch of government responsible for putting laws into effect. Electoral college- intermediary body that elects president. Presidential system- government in which executive is chosen independently of legislature and two branches are separate. Parliamentary system- government in which executive is chose by legislature from among its members and two branches are merged.
