Pangenesis = seeds carry all traits from the parents and pass it on to the offspring at the time of conception. Spermists = believed sperm carried miniature humans waiting to develop, and characteristics that resembled the mother were only because of influences while the child is in the womb. Ovists = eggs was sole thing responsible for human characteristics, and sperm only stimulated the egg to develop. K lreuter both parents make equal contribution to the offspring, and also the blending hypothesis: blending hypothesis = traits were blended then were passed onto the next generation. Model organism = pea plants: cross/hybridization experiment = when two individuals with different characteristics are bred, hybrids = the offspring that result from a hybridization experiment, why pea plants were good model organisms. Easy to cross: gamete = haploid reproductive cells that can fuse to form a zygote.
