Document Summary

Conduct disorder: a repetitive and persistent pattern of behavior that goes against age appropriate societal norms or the basic rights of others. The client has had to have at least one criteria, in the past 6 months, out of the 4 categories: aggression to people and animals, destruction of property, deceitfulness or theft, serious violation of rules. It is specified based off age of onset: childhood onset conduct disorder: begins before age 10. Problems worsen as they get older: adolescent onset conduct disorder: beginning at age 10 or later, life course persistent antisocial behavior. Psychopathy: non emotional presentation that is less reactive to fear or distress in others. Oppositional defiant disorder: pattern of angry/irritable mood, argumentative/defiant behavior, or vindictiveness lasting at least 6 months. Exhibited during an interaction with a non sibling. Unlike conduct disorder these children are not aggressive towards animals or people, don"t destroy property, and do not show patterns of theft.
