What do American social dances say about America?
We like to socialize with many different people and do crazy things to laugh about.
What is form?
Arrangement of parts. Certain number of gestures or movement bundles are arranged
in one section, but it is also the distribution of all the parts of the entire work.
Telic-
Included ups and downs. Has an ending climax.
Ternary-
Most common formal arrangement, cycle goes back to the beginning.
Rondo-
Consists of "home" section ventures out to theme and development then returns so
composers ideas are complete.

What is style and how is it different from genre?
Contains all elements of dance to create a character work. Consistent or inconsistent
movements refer to something: qualities features and traits, reflect dimensions of space,
time, energy, motivation form, etc. Genre is the type; ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop.
What mental and physical qualities are essential for a professional dancer?
Creative and smart to think on their feet. Years of training. Patient, confident , in good
health, and muscular.
Health issues that particularly affect dancers?
Joint problems, stress fractures, stress, leg misalignment, eating disorders, osteoporotic
bones, disease, exhaustion, etc.
