A script is a sequence of statements stored in a text file. A script is a simple form of a program in matlab. A comment is text added to provide explanation of a program for humans to read and does not affect how the program runs. Help comments are comments that appear at the beginning of a script file before the first statement. Whitespace consists of new lines and spaces between words. A custom function is a list of statements that a programmer creates and gives a specific name. A reference to the function"s name, as on the command line above, is known as a function call. The local workspace is also known as the function"s call stack. Tab completion: the user can type the first few letters of a matlab name, and press the tab key to see what matlab names begin with those letters.
