Socrates is the allegory of the cave because shows process to achieve enlightenment. Our accepted norm of society could be the same shadow on the wall. Purpose of a state is to promote and achieve justice. Justice is living in accord with nature or when citizens live in harmony then the state is just. People are naturally governed by rationality (passion/reason). Humans are equal to one another and even the weakest link can kill the strongest. Reason is the key to protect oneself from the dangers other poses. Power would act as teaching tool, if you act violently towards another then you will be punished in form to stop this aggressive behavior towards others and to teach them that it is not acceptable. Live in a state that will protect you or lived terrified in a world where e very individual has his own power to use to harm at any moment.
