Illusion of attention: i think i would have seen that . Illusion of attention = we experience far less of our visual world than we think we do. Ppl involved with kenny conley case was operating under a false notion of how the mind works: mistaken belief we pay attention to and should notice more of the world around us than we actually do. Could have been next to beating cox, even focused his eyes on it without actually seeing it. Police investigators, prosecutors, jurors, and kenny conley were all operating under illusion of attention and failed to consider possibility conley might have been telling the truth about where he was and what he didn"t see. Wants to show us how everyday illusions influence our thoughts, decisions, and actions, and convince us they have large effects on our lives. Why commander waddle and officer failed to see ehime maru when they looked through periscope.
